Beige Hours ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data to process your orders and communicate with you:

• Account data: Name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses.
• Payment data: Razorpay processes all payments. We store only the Razorpay order ID and payment ID — no raw card, UPI, or banking credentials.
• Order data: Products ordered, order date, delivery status, returns or complaints.
• Marketing data: WhatsApp opt-in status and email subscription status (collected only with explicit, unchecked-by-default consent).
• Usage data: Pages visited, clicks, device type, IP address, and cookie IDs (via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, both subject to your consent).

3. Why We Process Your Data

• Order fulfillment: Shipping, invoicing, and refund processing.
• Communication: Order confirmations, delivery updates, customer support (email, WhatsApp).
• Marketing: Promotional emails and WhatsApp messages (only if you have opted in).
• Analytics: Improving website performance and user experience (via GA4 and Meta Pixel).
• Legal compliance: Maintaining tax records, refund logs, and dispute resolution documentation per Indian Consumer Protection Act 2019 and DPDP Act 2023.

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Account data: Retained for the life of your account, or 2 years after last purchase if account is inactive.
• Order and payment data: Retained for 7 years per GST Act 2017 and Indian tax law.
• Marketing data: Retained for as long as you remain subscribed; automatically deleted 30 days after unsubscribe.
• Usage data (cookies): Retained per each analytics partner's default (GA4: 14 months; Meta Pixel: 90 days).

5. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your data (with exceptions for data we are legally required to retain).
• Nomination: Nominate a beneficiary to receive your data in the event of your death.
• Withdraw consent: Stop marketing communications or analytics tracking at any time.

How to exercise your rights: Email grievance@beigehours.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Essential cookies (used automatically): Session ID, cart contents. Required for checkout.

Non-essential cookies (require consent): Google Analytics (performance), Meta Pixel (retargeting), third-party plugins (optional). These are blocked by default until you accept our cookie banner.

Your choice: You can accept, reject, or customize cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner at the bottom of the website.

7. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do NOT sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Razorpay: Payment processor (PCI DSS Level 1 certified).
• Shopify: E-commerce platform and hosting (see Shopify Privacy Policy).
• Shipping partners: Shiprocket / Delhivery (for order delivery; they receive name, phone, address only).
• Email service: Klaviyo / Shopify Email (for transactional and marketing emails).
• Analytics: Google Analytics, Meta Pixel (anonymized usage data).
• WhatsApp Business API: Getgabs / NXCMSG (for transactional and marketing WhatsApp; they do NOT store message history).
• Legal authorities: Only if required by law.

8. Data Security

We protect your data using:

• HTTPS encryption for all website traffic.
• Secure password hashing for account credentials.
• PCI DSS compliance (Razorpay handles payment security; we do not store raw card data).
• No sharing of data with unauthorized third parties.

9. Data Deletion

If you request data deletion (erasure), we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 7 days, except:

• Tax and financial records (retained per GST Act 2017).
• Legal dispute logs (retained per Indian Consumer Protection Act 2019).
• Data anonymized for analytics (cannot be deleted).

10. Grievance Officer

For any concerns about your data or privacy, contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@beigehours.com. We respond within 30 days as required by the DPDP Act 2023.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Consent Checkboxes at Checkout

At checkout, you will see two optional (unchecked-by-default) consent checkboxes:

1. Email marketing: Opt in to receive promotional emails from Beige Hours.
2. WhatsApp marketing: Opt in to receive promotional WhatsApp messages from Beige Hours.

Important: These checkboxes start unchecked. You must actively check the box to consent. Transactional emails and WhatsApp messages (order confirmation, shipping updates, customer support) are sent regardless of your choice.
